Please refer to this article for definitions of standard inventory terms.
General Inventory Terms
Allocated - The number of on-hand units owed to customers for open orders.
Available - The number of on-hand stock not allocated to open orders. This quantity is pushed to any connected sales channel or third-party apps used to manage the accounts' inventory.
NOTE: If a Sell Ahead qty is added to a Purchase Order that amount wil be added to the available quantity when ShipHero updates inventory to the store; the available amount displayed in the ShipHero paltform will not change. On Hand - Allocations + Sell Ahead = Quantiy pushed to the store.
Backorder - The number of units not physically available for open orders. In other words, the number of pending shipments exceeds the On-Hand quantity.
Name - Readable reference for each product.
On Hand - The total physical count of a SKU assigned to a sellable location in the warehouse.
SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) - This unique identification code is assigned to each product in your inventory. ShipHero will generate an SKU if none exists based on the product ID in the sales channel.
Gift-Note - A note that is added to the packing slip. This does not generate a separate greeting/gift card.
Location Terms
Bin - Static Slotting only. A defined location for organizing SKUs in the warehouse.
Overstock Bin - Static Slotting only. Stock is used to restock the primary location. The quantity in overstock is included in your On Hand amount.
Pickable Bin—Dynamic Slotting only. When picking orders via the mobile app, pickers can be sent to a warehouse location. For the order to be ready to pick, all items on it must be in a pickable bin.
Non-pickable Bin - Dynamic Slotting only. These locations are omitted from the SIB and MIB picking paths and will not show when processing orders via the packing app. These types of locations are often used when designating staging or overstock locations.
Replenishment Level/Replenishment Minimum - Dynamic Slotting only. Represents the minimum quantity of a SKU in pickable locations throughout the warehouse and is used as a trigger to add the SKU to the replenishment process.
NOTE: When set to 0, SKUs will only appear on the Replenishment report if the allocated quantity exceeds the pickable quantity. To see these SKUs in the mobile, you must use the allocated filter.
Replenishment Max Dynamic slotting only. Represents the maximum quantity of a SKU in pickable locations throughout the warehouse and is used to calculate the quantity required to fill pickable locations as much as possible.
NOTE: If the maximum level is set to 0, the value entered for min will be used as the max.
Replenishment Increment: Dynamic Slotting Only. The increment at which replenishment should occur. Ensures that replenishment aligns with desired increments for efficient stock handling.
NOTE: If there is not enough inventory to replenish to reach the max replenishment level, the system will add all non-pickable inventory to be replenished, ignoring the increment.

Sellable Bin - Dynamic Slotting only. Locations in the warehouse where the amount of inventory assigned to it is considered in the On-hand quantity used to calculate the available quantity, which is pushed to a connected store or 3rd party platform.
Non-sellable Bin - Dynamic slotting only. Locations in a warehouse where the housed inventory is excluded from the on-hand inventory and not pushed to the store platforms or 3rd party apps. By default, non-sellable bins are also non-pickable. A common use case for non-sellable bins is for reserved inventory, damaged items, or returns that need additional handling before being returned to pickable inventory.
Kit Terms
Kit - An SKU containing a collection of other SKUs, referenced as components. The components of a "regular" kit cannot be shipped in separate boxes or short-shipped.
Build Kit - A kit setting that enables a kit to be broken apart and shown as separate line items on an order. These types of kits can be partially shipped if any of the components are out of stock or split into separate packages if several boxes are required.
Please review this article for more information on Creating and Managing Kits.
Purchase Order Terms
On Order - The total count of an SKU ordered from a vendor (also referred to as a supplier).
Reorder Amount - The number that should be reordered when an SKU reaches the Reorder Level.
Reorder Level - The Available value that an SKU must reach to trigger a Reorder. (See Reorder Amount). Setting this to 0 will prevent an SKU from automatically being added to a purchase order.
Reserve - Count of an SKU that is not to be sold in your sales channel. For example, if you’re running a flash sale and want to hold some stock for returns or exchanges, you would enter your full inventory of 100 units as the On Hand and a Reserve of 5 units. We would then tell the platform that you have 95 available for sale (On Hand minus Reserve). The Available count will remain 100.
Sell Ahead - Count of an SKU that is coming in on a Purchase Order that you want to sell on your platform but have not yet received. For example, say that you have 10 On Hand, 0 Allocated, and a Purchase Order coming in tomorrow with 100 units. You might set a Sell Ahead of 50 of those units and ShipHero will notify the sales channel that there are 60 for sale (Available plus Sell Ahead). If you have existing backorders for the product, those units are discounted from the amount pushed to the store.
